BICYCLE VICTORIA will be holding their final community meeting before the 2010
Great Victorian Bike Ride on Thursday, November 11, at 5pm in the Mitchell Shire Customer Service Centre at 28 High Street, Seymour.
Bicycle Victoria will hold this meeting to discuss the activities that have been planned in Seymour and Broadford and provide any final information that the community will need before the Great Victorian Bike Ride comes to the region.
All local community groups, organisations and businesses are invited, please RSVP to < This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it > to register their attendance.
Bicycle Victoria is also looking for community groups or organisations to have stalls at two of the rest stops along the Great Victorian Bike Ride.
This is a great opportunity for fundraising as Bicycle Victoria only provides water for the riders at these rest stops.
Bicycle Victoria’s Community Information Kit suggests community groups provide food, coffee/tea, drinks, farmers’ roadside stalls or fun signs at the rest stops.
“I encourage all residents to take part in this great event to ensure it is a success, not just for those participating but also for local businesses and community groups,” said Mitchell Shire Mayor Bill Melbourne.
The first rest stop is on Thursday, December 2, at the Seymour-Tooborac Road Old Road Reserve.
The second rest stop is on Friday, December 3, at the Harley Hammond Reserve in Broadford.
Interested groups or organisations can register with Bicycle Victoria by visiting
