GREG Murphy has for the third year running retained his role as Kilmore Fire Brigade Captain following the validation of elections this month.After battling the February 7 bushfires as Incident Controller this is a worthy reward.
This year’s leaders are largely unchanged from last year and thought to be in recognition of the strong leadership and team efforts during and after Black Saturday.
Following Greg in the line of duty is First Lieutenant David Williams, Second Lieutenant Russell Court, Third Lieutenant John Scicluna and Hayden Dally in the newly created position of Fourth Lieutenant.
Team Leader of Operational Support Peter Robinson, Team Leader of Training Anthony Archer, and Community Officer Cheryl Hearn were also re-elected.
Paul Duff is new to the brigade management team, taking on the role as Team Leader of Community Safety and Education and Andrew Carr will fill Tim Tingiri’s former role as Team Leader of Finance and Administration.
Tim Tingiri and John Dixon will this year fill the roles of Deputy Group Officers in the Northern Highway Group and Tim was thanked for efforts in his previous role.
Greg said the brigade were pleased with this year’s results and look forward to working with the community in the coming fire season.
"The brigade has endorsed previous management structure with minor changes to take us forward and into the future," he said.
"Three ex-brigade captains continue their involvement in the brigade management team which is fantastic for the stability of the brigade.
"The Brigade has been involved at various levels during the Royal Commission process which has at times been challenging and we look forward to the positive outcomes this process recommends.
"The management team would also like to take this opportunity to thank all members of the fire brigade, and their families, for their continuing contribution and commitment following what has been a very difficult season for all involved."

The Kilmore Fire Brigade is planning a range of activities leading up to the next fire season to continue to raise community awareness.
