KILMORE Football Club’s torrid season hit a new low on Saturday with the Blues defeated at Macedon by 98 points.
The visitors failed to kick a goal after quarter time as their opponents dominated the contest to secure their 12th win of the season.
The Cats had the game sewn up by half time with the margin 55 points at the long break.
A further six unanswered goals by the home side in the second half inflicted the Blues’ biggest loss of the season and their second in a row.
Blues’ coach Guy Booker continued his recent run of good form, while Matthew Jennings, Robert Rowe, and Wade Mason were gallant in the midfield.
Debutant Codey Phillips played well after being promoted from the under 18s.
The win was second thrashing the Cats handed out in as many weeks after defeating Melton Central by 130 points last round.
The loss was Kilmore’s 12th this season, with the Blues in 10th position on the Riddell District Football League ladder with one game to play.
The Blues face an equally tough task when the host Riddell on Saturday.
The Bombers have regained their early season form with a 137-point drubbing of Wallan last round.
