Lockerbie not locked in

MITCHELL Shire Council is pushing to remove the Lockerbie and Lockerbie North precinct structure plans from the Growth Areas Authority’s “rushed” accelerated approval process.
The plans, concerning big development in the south of the shire, were ruled “questionable with a range of inaccurate information,” at council’s last meeting.

Gas explosion at Pyalong Primary

A GAS explosion at Pyalong Primary School yesterday left the Principal Catherine Hoey in hospital with injuries.

Ms Hoey was taken to the Northern Hospital with a suspected fractured ankle and possible internal injuries that were determined by paramedics as not life threatening.

Emergency services from Kilmore, Pyalong and Broadford attended the scene with detectives from the Mitchell Crime Investigation Unit also present.
